Seems expensive for just 1080P, sure it’s 10bit 4:2:2, that helps but how much better than the 5D?  Is it better than the Sony F3?  Can’t wait to see comparison tests.  Have to be damn good for me to buy one.  Let’s see what weapon RED has up its sleeve.

    mpeg…. same as xf cameras

Any word on the sensor?  CMOS or CCD?  Global shutter?  I’d like to see an end to jello-cam.

5D records to 5:2:0  and 4.8mbyte/sec. So you are basically getting double the amount of info the same resolution.

No. It records to the XF Codec. 10mbyte/sec mpeg

    10-bit 422 out just like the F3. Onboard codec is more robust than F3. XDCAM EX @ 4:2:0 35mb/s vs XF MPEG2 @ 4:2:2 50mb/s both 8 bit onboard

    Recording format MPEG2 @ 50mbps 4:2:2

I think CMOS is pretty much the industry standard for chips at this point. They are cheaper to produce and a little bit more efficient.

no it’s a 4k camera – plus you would idealy record via the HDSDI or hdmi out to a 10bit uncompressed codec (of your choice)
