Canon November Announcement Email Invite.

Cameras

I finally got my dirty little hands on the Golden Ticket to the November Canon announcement. I had to bribe a few people and sell of a ton of gear but I think it’s worth it. Here is how it’s going to go down this week. Canon is going to announce the new cameras and lenses on November 3rd. This day is specified for media only. I think there will be a few Hollywood big shots there as well. This is Canon’s “press day”. I think we will see some footage from the cameras and some BTS with big shots using them. We will get the final specifications, release date and pricing.

November 4th and 5th are for “Industry Professionals”. This is when actual shooters will get to check out the new cameras and lenses. This is when we will get proper feedback on the ergonomics and feel of the cameras. If any of the pricing rumors are correct, the super 35 models are going to be well out of my personal price range and I cannot reccomend any owner/operator buying into this system until proven capable. Between this and the new RED scarlet both manufactures want to sell the dream. In this case it’s not going to cost a mere $2500 like the 5DMKII. It’s going to be closer to $10K. That kinda dream can easily turn into a nightmare.

Here is a rip from the email invite.

Jared Abrams is a cinematographer based in Hollywood, California. After many years as a professional camera assistant he switched over to still photography. About two years ago a new Canon camera changed the way the world sees both motion and still photography. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
