Greyson Chance Yamaha Photo Shoot BTS.

Cameras

I got called in to cover for Ben James to shoot BTS for a still shoot for the Yamaha All Access 360 magazine and website. I think I got the call on a Saturday or Sunday for a Monday shoot. Ben usually spins two cameras and records audio. The rate was good and I asked if it was cool if I split my rate and brought along another camera operator. I would rather have an AC or support crew over trying to swing two cameras solo. Unfortunately, no one was available. I ended up bringing two tripods, two 5D’s and every lens I have. I used a Zoom H4n for audio and two Litepanels 1 x 1 LED’s for the interview. It was a crazy ass shoot. Most of the BTS shots were hand held with a Canon 5D MK II and Canon 70-200mm IS zoom lens. It is always a little strange showing up and meeting everyone the day of the job. Tiffany Napper, the producer from Yamaha Entertainment Group and the still photographer Rob Shanahan were very cool and made me feel right at home. Greyson Chance is a hugely talented artist. I cannot thank everyone enough for letting me be a part of this very cool project. Check out the other videos that Ben shot for Yamaha All Access 360 here.

Jared Abrams is a cinematographer based in Hollywood, California. After many years as a professional camera assistant he switched over to still photography. About two years ago a new Canon camera changed the way the world sees both motion and still photography. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
