Hot Rod Cameras 7D-PL Short Test

Cameras

by: Chris Marino

Earlier this weekend I kept getting texts from a friend, Rich Cascio, with photos attached of a Hot Rod 7D-PL. Needless to say there was not going to be any chance that I would miss that opportunity. So this Sunday I met up with him out around the beach near San Francisco to film. The lens we used was a Carl Zeiss CP.2 25mm T2.9. I had the 7D-PL mounted on a Redrock Micro baseplate with their follow focus. I also used my Switronix Powerbase 70 and a Marshall 7″ HDMI. The only ND filters I could get my hands on so quickly were 4×5″ 85ND’s. No big deal I just white balanced the camera for 3200K. Have a look at the short videos we shot today. Cheers.

Jared Abrams is a cinematographer based in Hollywood, California. After many years as a professional camera assistant he switched over to still photography. About two years ago a new Canon camera changed the way the world sees both motion and still photography. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
