JAG35 HQ Visit. New Motion Control Slider For Under $500.

Cameras

I recently got the chance to swing down to the new JAG35 shop and check out the new motion control slider they are building. The new MoCo slider looks very promising. There will be two versions. A non-motorized “Basic” at around three hundred bones and a five hundred dollar motorized “Advanced” system. The slider is based around a fifteen millimeter rod system, a camera mounting block with ball bearings. This simple yet effective system is smooth as silk. The parts will be interchangeable between the two systems. Both the new V2 wireless follow focus and Motion Control slider will be available by early Fall of 2011.
Jehu Garcia shot the timelapse in this video. A huge Thank You to the JAG35 crew for their hospitality. Dig it.

Jared Abrams is a cinematographer based in Hollywood, California. After many years as a professional camera assistant he switched over to still photography. About two years ago a new Canon camera changed the way the world sees both motion and still photography. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Jehu… I just may have to get one of these…. wondering about noise?  Also.. it would be cool if I could order a custom size.. maybe 6 ft?

Would be great if it could be center-mounted on a single tripod, but it doesn’t look like it can. Still sounds like another winner, though!

If they could add the ability to center-mount to a tripod, they’d sell a million. :) Or at least I’d buy one.
