“Out Of Focus” Trailer For Formatt Hitech. Inspire.

Cameras

Here is the trailer for the “Out Of Focus” series we shot in part at NAB 2012 and in our studio in Hollywood, CA. We picked some of the people that have inspired us over the years and asked them questions about what has inspired them. I wanted to produce something that would last the test of time. I hope you as inspired by our film as we were while making this series. A special thanks to Nancy Schreiber, Den Lennie, Mick Jones, John Chapple, Vincent Laforet, Daniel Chung, Eric Kessler, Philip Bloom, James Miller, Lan and Vu Bui, and Steve Weiss.

Jared Abrams
Jared Abrams is a cinematographer based in Hollywood, California. After many years as a professional camera assistant he switched over to still photography. About two years ago a new Canon camera changed the way the world sees both motion and still photography. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

hmmm…this “its about the story” motto has been thrown around so much that everyone is desensitized to it. Frankly its more than just having a story, it should also be about having a point, point of view, or impact. I enjoy watching the shorts that are someone talking about their life, or passion…but at the end of the day that’s all it is…someone talking. There is no plot or real point most of the time. On the other hand, take this.

in less than 2 minutes those two videos have had a much bigger impact and connection with me than hours and hours of amateur and pro youtube/vimeo short films. Dont get me wrong, many short films are beautiful with fantastic visuals, editing, music. short films like mobius looked great…but really the story wasnt really a story…or that original. Dont get me wrong, I dont think im some big hot shot that could make movies to the same quality these guys can, i just think…given the tools some of these guys have…the stories could be MUCH more meaningful.
