My AC Hunter Kerhart had the idea to shoot this little quick take on the Zacuto Z Finder Junior with his iPhone 4 and cut it using the iMovie App. It took us about twenty takes to get it right. I kept flubbing my lines, we do not rehearse or use a script of any kind with our quick takes. I rely mostly on the info I have on hand. The result is not too bad. We used one 1X1 Litepanels bi-color light dimmed way down. The iPhone 4 was mounted to a Birns and Sawyer Phone mount arm thing. The Zacuto Z Finder Junior is not cheap at $250. I think it’s worth every penny. The extra point of stability and sticky back frame assembly are killer. I did this little “Quick Take” for DV Culture.

Jared Abrams is a cinematographer based in Hollywood, California. After many years as a professional camera assistant he switched over to still photography. About two years ago a new Canon camera changed the way the world sees both motion and still photography. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
