Small HD Announces The Sidefinder EVF. $1100 US. NAB 2015

Cameras

The new Small HD Sidewinder EVF looks like a killer option to the current crop of viewfinders on the market. With a rumored price tag of just over a grand this could be a great solution to an age old problem. The side view system looks great. It was pointed out that cables may be a hassle on the smart side of the camera. The nato and rosette options are looking solid. I just wonder if they can swing both ways? I got a sweet rumored price tag of $1100 base but we will find out for sure very soon at NAB 2015.  Here is a rip from the Small HD website.

“The Sidefinder is a fully featured HD viewfinder with a flip-out 1080p display. It’s the brilliant natural union between the SmallHD 500 Series Monitor and a cleverly designed, patent-pending, EVF
loupe. The Sidefinder gives shooters all the benefits of using a field monitor AND an EVF, without
compromising speed, agility, or quality of the image. The Sidefinder represents the highest
resolution EVF and the highest resolution 5-inch on-camera monitor in one device.”
