Weak link is the small mini HDMI fitting. I've had several cables break and the connector pull off the wires. I'm not sure that a swivel on the camera end is going to help that problem or not. I'll probably give it a shot just to see how good the connecter is on the mini end and if it last longer it will be worth $35. If the connector pulls off the wires on the min end is this covered under 1 year limited Warranty? If that's the case and it is covered it is definitely worth the money.

What side is the swivel on? If its on the full size HDMI, then it's not worth it. It needs to be on the mini HDMI side coming out of the camera.

The difference is that the adapter does't lock on the cable. With the swivel head built into the cable, there is one less place to have a connection problem. And also, the setup will only be as good as the HDMI cable you are using. So a low quality cable with the swivel adapter will still be a low quality cable.
