Cameras

Check out this killer three axis gyro stabilized handheld rig for the Hero 3. The EasyGimbal is a Kickstarter project that has already reached their goal of $40K. However you can still get in at the intro price. It’s not cheap at around six hundred smackers but if hand held GoPro is your bag, than this is a must have. Here is a rip from the Kickstarter page.

“The EasyGimbal
If you are shooting videos, be it sports, documentaries, weddings, narrative films, traveling movies,  or even home movies; the EasyGimbal is what you have been waiting for!

Have you ever tried moving around with your camera while recording and were then disappointed by the shaky footage you got? Have you ever wished you could get smooth moving shots like you have seen in professionally produced movies without having to spend a small fortune?

Wish no more! With the EasyGimbal, shooting smooth moving shots is easy. The days of shaky and unwatchable handheld footage are over. The EasyGimbal removes the shakiness by stabilizing all three axes (Pan, Tilt, and Roll) with the help of brushless motors, sophisticated electronics, and a thoroughly thought out gimbal design. The results are stunning. You can freely move around with your camera and theEasyGimbal will keep it steady.”

About two years ago a new Canon camera changed the way the world sees both motion and still photography. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

By sacrificing the protective plastic cage and risk scratching the lens, will the after market nd filters still fit? Also is there any possibility of dslr or camcorder version in the future if this is a success. Which dslr brand batteries is the gimbal powered by and what is its usage time?

The risk of the exposed lenses is not worth. I lost a GoPro when using a cheap Chinese Feyiu and that was horrible! First fall and the camera was ruined. And… can anyone recommend a good gimbal for bikes? Not happy with the Feyiu nor the DJI…… but could not find anything decent to have onboard my motorbike. Have you guys heard of http://www.darewarelabs.com? Suggestions?
