Screening Times & Locations Announced for Montreal World Film Festival
By: Chris Collins
Montreal World Film Festival has released the official program for the screenings. Our film, Grand Comme le Baobab, will be premiering in French on Sunday, August 26 at 7PM. The English premier will take place on Tuesday, August 28 at 9:30PM. Both screenings will take place at the Cinema Quartier Latin 14. Click here for the full program.
Montreal caters to an international market and “offers film lovers and professionals a rich program based on cultural diversity, innovation, independence and creativity.” For this reason, we thought MWFF would be a great place for our premier. Before commiting to a premier at MWFF, the staff offered us an extension to make our decision. They also offered us options on when and where we wanted the film to be shown, and we couldn’t be happier with the screening times and locations. It is very important to take into account how a particular festival will handle your film so it doesn’t get lost in the crowd. We feelextremely comfortable with how MWFF has received our film and the interest they have taken in it since the beginning.
After MWFF, we will continue the festival circuit. We were recently accepted into two major European festivals, and we will be releasing more information on that shortly.
This will be my first festival as a cinematographer. Please give me a shout on twitter @c2camera if you are going to be in Montreal during the festival so I can hook you up with free tickets.
